Congratulations to Anushka Chandrashekhar (S3) who took part in the Hong Kong Specimen Drawing Competition 2020 organized by the Royal Society of Biology Hong Kong Branch and won an outstanding award in the Junior Secondary Category. This drawing competition aims at cultivating students’ interest in biological drawings and instilling their respect for the wonders of life and living things. Anushka’s piece of work is a cross section of a honey bee and has been displayed outside the Level 9 Laboratories.
Jiang Leyi has achieved excellent results in various speech competitions, debates and reading clubs. Last year, she won the championship in the Hong Kong Inter-School Writing Competition and Greater Bay Area Youth Writing Competition, first runner-up in the Hong Kong Inter-school Putonghua Speech Competition (Senior Secondary) and second runner-up in the SISHK speech competition. The thrilling fun-filled summer camp increased the leadership and life skills of our Secondary 3 students. Students made a short kayaking trip to explore the coastline around Mui Wo. Coasteering was definitely an exciting and highly challenging adventure. Our students explored a rocky coastline in Clear Water Bay using a variety of exciting techniques.
Our Secondary 2 students experienced adventures in their 3-day leadership camp in June. The programme was uniquely designed to develop their leadership, cooperation, inquiry into the natural world, and outdoor competencies. Students acquired technical skills of sea kayaking in a natural mangrove habitat. Outdoor rock climbing gave them the opportunity to explore the natural rock formations with a thrill while enjoying breathtaking views.
Our secondary 1 students were immersed in the natural world, learning lifelong skills and exploring the beautiful landscapes of Sai Wan, Pat Sin Leng Country Park and Cheung Chau in their 3-day camp in June. With fun activities such as kayaking, surfing, canyoning, Stand-Up Paddle, rock-climbing, stream trekking and abseiling, students acquired leadership and life skills for personal and future growth, connected with their peers in physical and social interactions, and fostered the joy of learning and strengthened their character.
