Our theme for Library Week this year is “Read to Grow, Care to Show”. Throughout the week, students enjoyed author visits, buddy reading sessions, library visits, DIY bookmark-making activities, Chinese game stalls, English book cover challenges in the library and a lively book character dress up day. Mr. and Ms. Wally, our Secondary English teachers, together with our students, celebrated World Book Day. They immersed themselves in a range of engaging activities, including the delightfully quirky “AbSuRd ReAdinG!” experience and showcasing their creativity by dressing up as their favourite book characters. They also enjoyed a bracelet-making activity and participated in the spirited competition of “Humanagram,” which added an element of teamwork and fun to the celebration. The event fostered a deep appreciation for literature.
We had an amazing time during Library Week, sharing our love for books and literature. Students enjoyed book swaps, exploring new stories with friends, and discovering adventures at the Book Fair. A heartfelt thank you to our teachers, parent volunteers, and the authors (Simone Louw, Blair Reeve, and Xu Hai Na) for inspiring our students with their stories and making the event memorable.

Library Week was held on 11th – 15th March and we had a lot of fun activities. Matthew Gollub entertained the PY1s – P2s with his stories about “Uncle Snake” and “Jazz Fly”. Matthew Gollub is a very funny person. He makes fun stories like The Jazz fly and Twenty-Five Mixtec Cats. Sometimes I like to read his books every night before I go to bed. Students created book recommendation displays which were on show in the plaza, participated in book quizzes and enjoyed visits from Chinese and English-speaking authors.
