As part of the SG60 projects, our DP1 students embarked on a CAS trip around Hong Kong, centered on the theme of “Sustainability – Waste Management.” Over the past week, they participated in a series of impactful activities, including a beach cleanup, a microplastic survey, and water sampling at Shek O. 🏆⚽ Proud of our U16 Football team for an amazing season! With 5 wins out of 7 matches, we finished first in the group stage and secured a stunning 7-1 victory in the semi-finals. Despite falling short in the final, earning a silver medal is a fantastic achievement! Huge congratulations to the whole team! 🥈💪
Green Club students participated in the Student-Led Biodiversity and Schools Summit at the Chinese International School. The summit’s objectives included elevating discussions about biodiversity in schools, learning about biodiversity on global and local scales, and exploring practical ways to enhance biodiversity on school campuses. Students attended a variety of interactive workshops where they gained valuable knowledge about making eco-enzyme, conserving endangered species in Hong Kong, and practicing organic farming at CIS. 🎉 Excited to welcome back @equinoxhk this year! The student-led charity Fashion Show raised HK$6000 for OneSky Foundation, an organization dedicated to improving care for orphaned and abandoned children. Our school collaborated with talented student designers and models from various international schools, and we are proud to have been sponsored by several fashion brands.
Many external competitions were diligently won this academic year! A special thanks to the DP Captains and Upper Secondary Leaders for their invaluable training and insights drawn from past experiences. The team concluded their final competition of the year with outstanding teamwork and exceptional skill, winning all rounds with an impressive score of 79-57. Well done, SISHK BOB Team!
We are excited to welcome the Singapore Football Club players for the Hong Kong Soccer Sevens! They took time to engage with the SISHK school team, participating in a football clinic and joining influencer Jeh Vas for a special shoot. Our alumni in town also joined the training sessions.
On March 22, seven Green Club members participated in a memorable dolphin-watching trip organised by the Hong Kong Environment Campaign Committee to Tung Chung and Tai O. The purpose of the trip was to learn about the ecology of Chinese dolphins and the conservation efforts surrounding them. The students spent the day on the water, observed playful dolphins, and gained valuable educational information. The experience was unforgettable, filled with laughter, learning, and the creation of wonderful memories.
This year, SISHK celebrated World Book Day on 30th April, Wednesday, starting with a performance of Romeo and Juliet by the Dove Tales Theatre Company. During lunchtime, the plaza came to life with activities such as “Character Dress-Up” (where the English Department were costumed as the titular protagonist of Mark Twain’s classic novel, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer), Bracelet-Making, and a free library, Take-A-Book!
