Hong Kong Young Writers Award 2023

This year SISHK entered a record breaking 28 students in the Hong Kong Young Writers Competition which is spearheaded by the well-renowned Hong Kong journalist, Nury Vittachi. Of the 1000 plus entries that were submitted by students across Hong Kong, 24 entries at upper primary level were shortlisted. Of the 24 shortlisted entries, eight students were SISHK students. Hong Kong Open Novice Wushu Championship

Our eight dedicated students participated in the recent Hong Kong Open Novice Wushu Championship organized by Hong Kong Wushu Union on 20 May. They practiced the traditional art of “五步拳” (Wǔ Bù Quán) every week, and secured an impressive third place! While practicing Wushu, they embody the values of discipline, perseverance, and teamwork. P3 Hydroponics

Our P3 students have successfully grown vegetables using hydroponics and harvested them for a good cause. As part of the school’s contribution to the community and promoting inter-generational harmony, a few student representatives delivered the vegetables to a local elderly community where they cooked and tasted the vegetables together. Not only did our students learn about plant growth and the importance of sustainability, but they also gained valuable life skills such as responsibility, teamwork, and empathy.

P5 & P6 Outdoor Camps

Our P5 & P6 cohorts experienced and learned to cope with stress better, built resilience and improved their physical and mental health through the recent outdoor school camps. Primary – U12 boys and girls ISSFHK badminton matches

The U12 boys and girls badminton squad have been practising hard to take part in the ISSFHK badminton matches. Competing in weekly matches, they came joint first in the table of teams for both the boys and girls. They then went through to the final play offs, where both teams performed fantastically and came away with first place results, earning first place medals and two banners to display proudly in the school. SISHK Rebuilding for Care
