Inspiring career seminar on 14 April
In order to support students to develop their career aspirations in a specific industry, career speakers were invited into school to share on their experiences in the areas of technology, law and medicine. Students will have been able to reflect on their current career plans and be more informed about considerations for the future.
On Wednesday 14 April, we invited Mr Basil Hwang, a solicitor and Managing Partner of Hauzen LLP, Dr Domingo Maurellet, AVP & Medical Director of Sun Life and Mr Gary Cheng, Head of Global Destination Marketing Team at KLOOK to share and reflect on their career paths with our secondary and DP students.
The speakers shared details of their current roles in their respective industries, and noted the qualifications required to enter and additional education and training needed to develop in their careers. They also provided students with a positive approach to the world of work.
Our students were certainly interested to hear about Mr Hwang’s comments on ethical dilemmas within the practice of law. According to Dr Maurellet, AI only assists doctors in the diagnosis and will never substitute doctors’ human touch and empathy to patients. Mr Cheng, who loves coaching his staff, advised our students to find a career that fits their own personality.
Thank you to all our guests who delivered such an inspiring talk.
