English Debate of the UNESCO United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Debate

We finished off the debate season by hosting the Grand Finals round (for International Schools) of the UNESCO United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Debate on Friday 19th May.

The motion was ‘A.I. will improve students’ education’, and our SISHK debate team achieved First Place as side Opposition. Congratulations to Renee Lee, Charlotte Lee Wai Ying, and Sun Chufeng who competed as Juniors in the Senior Division! A special mention to Sun Chufeng for achieving Best Speaker and to Teacher-in-Charge, Gloria Chong, for her continued mentoring of the team. Thank you to two very special guests from Hong Kong’s top legal circles for serving as adjudicators, Mr. Wesley Wong, Senior Counsel, and Ms Jenny Lim. UNESCO Hong Kong Association board member and Vice President, Dr. Angela Cheung, MBE, JP, presided over the debate and gave inspiring closing remarks.
