UNESCO Hong Kong Debate Tournament

AY2223 saw the return of live debates in Hong Kong after a 3-year hiatus due to Covid-19. After several years of coming runner-up in the online digital version of the tournament where students submitted video recordings of their debate speeches, the SISHK Debate team were eager to assert themselves on the live debate scene. After passing the qualifying rounds, the SISHK Debate Team of Colette Cho (P6), Yuxin Lye (P6) and Hongfei Li (P6) took on Wycombe Abbey Hong Kong in the semi-final and emerged victorious. This placed our team in the live debate finals for senior primary (International School Division) which took place at City U University in Kowloon Tong on 24 May 2023. After putting in a commanding performance against Harbour school, our SISHK Debate Team were named as Champions of the UNESCO Hong Kong Debate Tournament 2023 for Senior Primary (International School Division). Congratulations to the team members, Colette, Yuxin and Feifei and a special thank you for the support of Amanda Lin of P6 Care who acted as chairperson for both the semi-final and Grand Final debates of the tournament.
