Sharing from a Cross Country Team Member

Since young, I always had an interest in running. I fondly remember the time my mom and I joined a 3km race. I was able to finish the race with a mild side stitch through the last 2km. It was then I knew running long distance required training and dedication. Cross country is about running in long distances on different grounds. During this half-year as a member of the school’s cross country team, we ran on the track, up to the hill at Nam Long Shan, and down the beach to Deep Water Bay. We also had routine fitness trainings and drills to build our strength and stamina.
We participated in the ISSFHK Cross Country Championships in Tai Tong on 9 February 2018. Two months leading up to the event, we trained hard as a team to prepare for our first inter-school race. We were all inspired with awe by the strong competition that day.
We look forward to going back to the training ground and prepare for next year’s competitions. Although at the end of each training, we may walk home tired and sore, it is all worth it, as by the end of each day, we got better, and most importantly, we had fun.
