Leadership Camp

by Faith Wong, P5T
I think that the Leadership Camp this year was a great help to me as a new prefect to get a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a prefect. For example, before the camp, I thought that “boss” and “leader” meant the same thing. However, after the camp, my whole perspective changed, and I found out that there actually is a HUGE difference that can relate to how prefects are supposed to behave.
Bosses are people who just sit around and order their workers to complete their duties, which makes you think of the word “bossy”. And bossy is what SISHK prefects are definitely NOT supposed to be. On the other hand, a leader is someone that can both lead a team and also be a team player, which is what prefects at our school ARE supposed to do: lead by example and be good role models for fellow schoolmates. The camp has been a fruitful experience for me and now I will take the initiative to show how things are done in school so as to create more future leaders at SISHK.
