National Day – Whole School Assembly (Matthew)
by Matthew Wang, P4K
Being the emcee for the National Day Whole School Assembly was a great learning experience.
Preparation for the event was challenging, as we only had a week or so to prepare with the school Sport’s Day and holiday that was held just before the Whole School Assembly.
On the day of the assembly, I had stage fright and I did not do as well as I usually did during rehearsals. Fortunately I took deep breaths and managed to calm myself down, so I don’t think it ended up that bad.
In the midst of preparing for this event, I built up confidence for public speaking and I learnt to articulate words a little better. I also learnt more about Singapore and Hong Kong.
I hope I can be the emcee again and hopefully I will not get stage fright next time.
