My Prefect Camp Experience
Tan Shann P4CE
The day started with a dull and lengthy bus ride to school. My friend and I scampered down to the gym at half past eight on the dot. We lined up excitedly into our grade levels wondering what the day would bring.
The teachers started the day with the question, ”Can anyone think what’s going to happen today?’’ The question swirled around in my head as I pondered the question. The teachers passed the microphone around the gym and many prefects answered eagerly. We came to the conclusion that we were going to do different activities that included teamwork, leadership and imagination.
The rest of the day was filled with engaging activities. We had group discussions, played games, did drama acts and lots more activities. Who would have known that you could learn about leadership through playing Tic-tac-toe! My favorite activity was the drama activity, where we had to act out different scenarios and come up with solutions when facing a number of challenges, because it really helped me use my imagination and think outside of the box.
We ended our day by reflecting on the activities we had had during the day and assigning ourselves different prefect duties for the academic year ahead of us. Everyone wanted to take on more duties and responsibility! This was such an exhilarating day!
