AY2526 VEX Robotics Competition
The 2026 VEX V5 Hong Kong Championship, held over 2 days at the Hong Kong Science Park, concluded the season with Team 2 and A.U.R.A competing among 28 teams at the Hong Kong Tech Challenge regional competition.
Both teams performed strongly in a highly competitive field, reaching midday rankings of 7th (Team 2) and 19th (A.U.R.A), and finishing 17th and 22nd overall. They notably outperformed several well-resourced robotics institutions, reflecting strong preparation and capability.
Students gained valuable hands-on experience in engineering design, construction, coding integration, mechanical systems, and strategic strategy. Their dedication was evident through extra practice sessions, independent research, and the thorough completion of their engineering notebooks.
Throughout the competition, the teams demonstrated resilience and sportsmanship, effectively handling mechanical issues and match challenges while maintaining positive attitudes.
The event laid a strong foundation for Secondary 1 robotics students, who are already motivated for next year. Remaining lessons will further strengthen structural engineering and coding skills in preparation for future competitions and broader digital literacy development.
Special recognition was given to Horace, Iris, Amos, Elizabeth, Daniel Tsu, and Kingsley for their exceptional dedication, including early completion of the engineering notebook and ensuring equipment readiness.
