Beyond the Classroom: Exploring AI Frontiers with Dr. Dai Wenyuan

Our Secondary 3 ICT and Computer Science, DP1 Computer Science, and DP1 Digital Society students had the unique opportunity to engage in a dynamic on-campus session with AI scientist, founder and CEO of 4Paradigm, Dr. Dai Wenyuan in May.

This exchange served as a catalyst for aspirational learning, challenging our students to view modern technology, specifically artificial intelligence, not just as a tool but as a lens through which to understand the world.

The dialogue pivoted from foundational coding logic to the vast potential of machine learning. This gave our S3 Computer Science students a chance to consider how AI can be harnessed to solve complex local and global challenges, fostering a sense of social responsibility and innovation. When the discussion delved into the ethical and societal implications of the AI revolution, our DP1 Digital Society and Computer Science students were prompted to connect their conceptual understanding of change and systems as they analysed how technology reshapes human behaviour and values.

This student engagement session provided a holistic educational experience that extended beyond the textbook. By facilitating these high-impact partnerships, we empower our students to explore emerging technologies within an authentic global context and develop the critical thinking and technical curiosity necessary to thrive and lead in an increasingly automated world.
