Remarkable Achievements for VANDA International Science Competition

This year, 51 of our P4 to P6 students took part in the 2021 VANDA competition. “VANDA is an international Science competition held annually around the world. It focuses on the students’ ability to think critically and creatively to identify hidden information to aid them in solving questions”. Primary school visual arts exhibition

Mona Cheng Our primary school visual arts exhibition in June was an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their creative works to their peers and parents. On show were artworks that employed various techniques. P1 and P2 STEM Challenges

Edwina Lam To promote the joy of learning through play, the I&D Department set up two STEM Challenges for our P1 and P2 students in June. Our P1 students in groups were required to build a LEGO bridge above a river that can hold at least 4 water bottles. Endangered Animals Jigsaw Puzzle Activity

Edwina Lam The planet’s wildlife species are under increasing threats due to many factors. Our P4 students attended the online educational programme “Mission Red Alert” conducted by the Singapore Zoological Gardens during their science lessons in April. This programme oriented our students to the threats that animals are facing in the wild and the real-life solutions to save them. Cultural Heritage – Tuen Ng Festival Glutinous Rice Dumpling Making Activity

Tuen Ng Festival comes with various energetic celebrations and traditions. Every year it is celebrated with the Dragon Boat races, the putting up of wormwood and, most famously, the making of glutinous rice dumplings. Our P5 student learned about the making of rice dumplings during the Chinese class. Their teachers demonstrated how to wrap rice dumplings in bamboo leaves. Music Island Festival brings forth excitement and fun!

Samuel Craig From 17 to 21 May, our school plaza rang out with the joyful musical delights of the Music Island Festival. During their respective playtimes, P1 to P4 students were given the opportunity to serenade an audience with solo and ensemble musical instrument playing and singing. Earth Day 2021

30 April marked the final Green Day of this academic year. The theme was “Earth Day” and students wore green T-shirts to school to show support for environmental protection. There are many ways to help the environment in our daily life. From eating plant-based meals to growing our own food, buying fresh local produce grown locally to taking public transport.
