Primary Library Week
Sharon Mullen and students
Library Week was held on 11th – 15th March and we had a lot of fun activities. Matthew Gollub entertained the PY1s – P2s with his stories about “Uncle Snake” and “Jazz Fly”.
Matthew Gollub is a very funny person. He makes fun stories like The Jazz fly and Twenty-Five Mixtec Cats. Sometimes I like to read his books every night before I go to bed. He is the best author ever! – Alyssa Lui, P2RY
The children loved designing their own bookmarks which they can use when they are reading.
P3s to P6s helped choose books for the library for next year.
Overall, Library Week was really fun! The different competitions helped let students have something to work for and the Book character dress up day gave us all something to look forward to. The competition prizes were books which I thought was really great, as we would have fresh new books in our class library if we won, which we did. – Jane Dong, P6RE
It was wonderful to see so much creativity on Character Dress up Day. The following classes won the prize for their costumes in each level:
P1 Care, P2 Harmony, P3 Resilience, P4 Harmony, P5 Responsibility and P6 Care.
This Library Week was the best library week ever as the P5s and P6s got to meet a newspaper journalist who works for YoungPost, which is run by the South China Morning Post! The journalist who came in for our assembly was very nice and informative about future careers in the media industry.
Our class, P6RE, were the winners of the reading log competition thanks to our hard work! We won 2 books as our prize and I really love reading the prize book “Tales from the Inner City” about how animals affect our daily lives. – Sara Tom, P6RE
Congratulations to the following classes who won the reading log competition:
P3 Integrity, P4 Harmony, P5 Resilience and P6 Resilience.
