Arts Fest: SISHK is celebrating arts to inspire young minds
Our performing and visual arts teachers responded creatively to the current pandemic by moving our annual Arts Fest online while practising physical distancing. This unique digital festival offers an excellent opportunity for our students to discover and create with an array of local performing and visual artists. To spark motivation and enthusiasm in students, the talks were delivered in an interactive manner online that went beyond traditional classroom settings. Artists talked to the audience directly out of their studios via zoom. Students were able to experience the creation of tasteful graffiti and appreciate art pieces projected on the screen. Getting together at home to learn dance moves could still be fun and inspirational.
We are also very excited to announce the launch of our new visual art website which offers an entire pallet of games, workshop and resources. Our performing and visual arts teachers are leading efforts to ensure learning continues and students never miss out on enjoying art during the pandemic.
Watch this video to know more about this exciting event.
Artists invited to deliver talks came from a wide range of backgrounds. We received positive and encouraging feedback from students.

From the talk, I have learnt numerous things about art. Art can express how you feel, how you think and even how you act. Art creates a sense of beauty. That sense can move people, change people’s mindset or their perspective about things. Not only can art help express what you feel, but it can motivate people. I learnt, overall, from the presentation that art is joyful and motivating. It can move people to tears. It can inspire people. It can even tell a story. Art is unique, special, and nobody will ever change it. I felt like the talk was meaningful, enlightening and influential. It will always encourage me to try my best to do good for the world and help people to bring out the best of them. 🙂
Thank you for reading this email! I hope you enjoyed my opinions!
