SCMP Student of the Year Awards 2020/21
Jiang Leyi has achieved excellent results in various speech competitions, debates and reading clubs. Last year, she won the championship in the Hong Kong Inter-School Writing Competition and Greater Bay Area Youth Writing Competition, first runner-up in the Hong Kong Inter-school Putonghua Speech Competition (Senior Secondary) and second runner-up in the SISHK speech competition. Jiang Leyi was recognized for her efforts in promoting Chinese language in the school and setting up the Classical Chinese Club. Even during the pandemic, our students were able to feel the unique charms of traditional Chinese culture from the emails and videos that Jiang Leyi regularly shared with them.
Luo Junhong has won numerous awards in the areas of science and math. For example, she was awarded champion in Hong Kong Student Science Competition 2020 for her research in drug delivery systems. She was thus selected to represent Hong Kong in the International Science and Invention Fair 2020. Junhong was also dual-enrolled at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to study chemistry and was awarded the top in class. Additionally, Junhong studied multivariable calculus at Harvard University and earned a 4.0 GPA. Besides her academic commitments, Luo Junhong co-founded the student-led math initiative MathCube, which aims to promote enthusiasm for the subject in the school community.
Congratulations to Jiang Leyi (DP2 Class of 2021) and Luo Jun Hong (DP2 Class of 2021)!
