SISHK student’s artwork shines in Singapore Youth Festival 2022 Art Exhibition
The Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Art Exhibition is an annual event organised by the Ministry of Education in Singapore to provide students with opportunities to showcase artistic talents and to promote art appreciation in schools. This year, there were more than 500 artwork submissions across all three categories from over 120 Secondary Schools/Junior College /Millenia Institute for the exhibition.
We would like to congratulate Tan E-Shyan (S2) and Zhang Ze Lan (S2), whose artwork will be accorded Certificate of Recognition and showcased at the National Gallery in Singapore!

Artist Statement: The magnificence and natural beauty of our oceans is perishing, as marine life is being replaced with our
plastic. This is a stark warning of a possible future. Next generations would only know of our precious oceans and its wild
inhabitants as “The Oceans of Plastic”. Save our oceans.

Title: Dancing and Rejoicing
Medium: White Colour Pencil on Black Paper
Artist Statement: Through this artwork, I want to convey a sense of peace and negotiation between humans and nature.
The hand folded paper cranes represent how our collective small efforts can make a difference. Cranes are a symbol of
immortality, and I hope that Mother Earth will last for generations to come.
