African Dance and Drum Workshop

Secondary 2 students have been studying African music, as part of the World music curriculum. Our students have been learning African music; from instruments to the features of African music such as the use of Call-and-response in music. As an extension to students’ learning, our students had the opportunity to get hands-on experience through a workshop hosted by the Africa Center Hong Kong. Students learnt to play traditional African drums and dance to African beats. Through this workshop, our students gained more insight to the African culture, and how the drums play an important role in communications.
