Leadership Action Committee Initiatives AY1718
The Leadership Action Committee (LAC) aims to support, develop, and enhance the individual’s, programs, and events of the SISHK community through trainings, ceremonies, and specialized projects. As a newly-founded leadership group in the school community, the LAC has introduced a diverse range of events and contributed to many school activities such as the student elections, leadership training and Mid-autumn festival. One of the LAC’s biggest accomplishments is launching — in conjunction with the Humanities department — the Human Rights Month, an unprecedented event which aims to raise awareness of prevalent human rights issues and to initiate dialogue among the school community about human rights. In addition, the LAC has organized the Partner’s Appreciation Day, Teacher Farewell and Council Appreciation to recognize and express gratitude to integral members of the school community. To engage and involve the student body in fostering a vibrant school community, the LAC has established a suggestion box for students. The suggestion box gives a platform for students to voice their opinions by suggesting their ideas for new events and proposals, which all contribute to the betterment and enrichment of the SISHK experience.
Members of the LAC are exposed to a multitude of opportunities to better their leadership skills as they have the chance to lead school events and impact the school community. The creative individuals of the LAC are given many possibilities to propose original ideas that can eventually come to fruition as pioneering, novel school events such as the aforementioned Human Rights Month.
The LAC strives to continue its contributions to the school community and further its impact on the school community in years to come.
