Green Club Learning Journey
On January 6, 2024, 13 students from our Green Club attended a learning journey to the Hong Kong Biodiversity Museum, which is located at the University of Hong Kong.
This trip was organised by the Student Environmental Protection Ambassador (SEPA). It provided students with a valuable opportunity to enhance their understanding of biodiversity and ecosystems. Through campus sightseeing and birdwatching, they gained knowledge about various plant and bird species, being able to distinguish similar ones. HKU’s commitment to sustainable architecture was evident in the campus’s natural features, which were enriched by its proximity to Lung Fu Shan Country Park.
The highlight of the trip was the Hong Kong Biodiversity Museum, where students explored a vast collection of animal specimens and received detailed explanations from an instructor, including microscopic views of bees, wasps, flies, and ants. The students completed a knowledge assessment and reflection survey at the trip’s end, expressing their positive reviews and anticipation for future SEPA events.
