Academic Year 1920 DP1 Orientation

Our DP1 Orientation Programme took place from 18 to 19 Sep 2019. It was a two-day programme designed by our IB Coordinators to better prepare our DP students for the academic rigor and important skills, including time management, communication skills,and stress management, required for the IB Diploma Programme. Our School, Our Stories Honourable Mention Award

Our School, Our Stories celebrates stories in Singapore schools that are often not known beyond the immediate community. A total of 998 entries were received from 151 schools. 记中秋晚会

为了让学生充分了解中秋节的渊源、中秋的传统习俗及其文化氛围，我校在九月十二日，举行了别开生面的中秋庆祝晚会。活动当晚，学校张灯结彩，乐声悠扬，到处是一片喜气洋洋的景象。晚会上，有小学部华文老师精心准备的摊位：品香茶、做月饼、吃月饼和剥柚子比赛；有家长们设立的制作灯笼摊位；有中学部师生设计的摊位游戏；还有小女童军负责的义卖摊位。人们三五成群积极投入，在各个摊位前流连忘返。晚会的文艺演出更是别具一格，有全体一年级学生表演的唐诗唱诵、二年级“三字经”演唱、华乐小合奏、师生二胡演奏、学生弹琴和独唱等等。这些活动既有趣又体现了中秋特色，吸引了很多同学踊跃参与。通过这些丰富多彩的活动，增强了学生对中秋传统文化的认识，加深了爱父母爱家庭爱学校的情怀。大家心中都有着美好愿望，那就是：花好月圆人团圆，而我们新加坡国际学校这个大家庭，就像中秋节的月亮一样又圆又亮！张光蓉老师九月十二日，中秋节的前一个晚上，新加坡国际学校的老师们、同学们和家长们欢聚一堂，共同庆祝中秋佳节。在这个美好的夜晚，我很荣幸能在舞台上为大家演奏二胡助兴。越是临近登台，我越是紧张，满脑门满手心都是汗珠。看到台下那么多热情的观众，生怕自己的表演有失误，留下遗憾。还好这次是由我和邓诺文老师一起演奏，她不时地鼓励我，才让我的心情轻松了许多。终于轮到我们上台了，坐在台上，拉动琴弦的那一刻，我的心却是平静的，只有音律在我耳边回荡。我们合奏了两首曲目：“月亮代表我的心”和“赛马”。演奏完成之后，得到大家热烈的掌声，我感到非常开心和自豪。掌声是激励、更是动力，我会继续努力提高我的技艺，期待以后能演奏出更加动听的音乐奉献给大家。刘晋赫 (P6CE)

2019年5月6日（星期一），在SIS CCA华乐团家长的大力支持下，同学们和爸爸妈妈一同到“东华三院赛马会松朗安老综合中心”参加关爱长者的探访活动。同学们不仅为长者们演奏一曲曲动听的乐曲，还耐心地为长者们讲解不同乐器的演奏技巧。此次探访活动非常成功，同学们将爱与快乐分享给长者们。探访活动结束后，华乐团的同学们得到家长、“东华三院赛马会松朗安老综合中心”护工及长者们的赞赏。大家都期望今后还有更多类似的交流活动！
